The movement of Christian education has been growing substantially in Sub-Saharan Africa since the 1980s. In particular, the sub-region of West Africa accounts for over 600 Christian schools (K-12). They strive to provide an alternative quality education for local families and learners for a better future. However, in a context in which many of the schools and teachers possess only chalkboards and chalk for teaching and learning materials, how can they effectively serve that ambitious educational ideal in their classrooms?
This concern is also common to the majority of the 200 Christian teachers who have participated in the various training programs run by The Teacher’s Garden since 2019. Many of them have nowhere to go to access sound teaching and learning materials for their practices. “THE TEACHER’S GARDEN,” is a response and a contribution toward addressing this great need.
